Recognizing that the future is dependent upon today's students, the mission of the Clinton City Schools is to provide a climate for learning that will create motivated, literate, value-conscious individuals.  The staff, in partnership with all segments of the community, will strive to develop responsible, productive citizens who possess the skills and attitudes necessary for active participation in an ever-changing society.

  • Change is a central characteristic of the future and demands major attention in education.
  • An educated citizen is vital to a functioning democracy.
  • Education is a partnership committed to excellence involving home, school and community, led and guided by professional educators but dependent for success upon all.
  • A highly qualified, dedicated staff with the freedom and encouragement to pursue innovative ideas and strategies is necessary to enhance the learning process.
  • Each student has a right to develop his/her fullest potential.
  • Education is enhanced when students are intrinsically motivated.
  • A positive self-concept, good self-discipline, and an understanding and generous respect for the rights of others are essential for teaching and learning.
  • Everyone involved in the educational process is accountable and should strive for harmonious dialogue and cooperation.
  • Education is a life-long endeavor.

Goals

  • To provide a balanced curriculum of school experiences which will facilitate the maximum mental, social, physical, and emotional development of each student.  Emphasis will be placed upon the development of basic knowledge, skills, concepts and the assimilation of facts that establish a basis for understanding.
  • To ensure that each staff member feels that he/she is a valuable member of the Clinton City Schools by fully utilizing his/her skills and resources in the pursuit of excellence.
  • To involve all facets of the community in the educational process.
  • To maximize fiscal effectiveness, provide appropriate physical facilities, expand revenues, direct available resources to identified priorities, and maintain a balanced budget.
